As our Agent Operations Lead (100% Remote!), you will define our sales and service processes, as well as our team of customer-focused agents for Coterie’s subsidiaries and agencies. As a result, you will continue to refine and reshape how our agent team best serves our customers. What will the Underwriting Support Associate do?
We’re looking for an Underwriting Support Associate who is passionate about commercial insurance, and great at execution to be part of our core startup team. We need someone who can deliver a world-class customer service experience to our policyholders and agents, and values team members who view what they do as a craft rather than a job.
Contributes to the generation and retention of Coterie Insurance premium income through the attainment of specific renewal targets that align with divisional goals. The Underwriting Support Associate will be responsible for driving account renewals starting 120 days in advance of their contract end date and executing all renewal back-end work in a timely manner for assigned accounts. Success in this role requires a high level of organization and coordination across teams, such as Underwriting, Data, Accounting, and Operations. The role will be measured based on the adherence to company workflows and regulatory guidelines for renewals, the candidate’s ability to maintain desired Retention levels with existing customers, and on increasing cross-selling opportunities.
- Policy Issuance: renewal notices, exposure updates, and handling billing communications internally and externally.
- Renewals: facilitates renewal communications to customers, and explains procedures to Coterie internal stakeholders that align with company objectives of Speed, Simplicity, and Service.
- Business Planning: Proactively and collaboratively works with all parties to plan upcoming renewals and strategies to attain goals and targets.
- Relationships and Service: Forms and manages existing and ongoing relationships with key internal partners, and agents for the purpose of identifying inefficiencies and addressing customer feedback.
Superpowers we are looking for!
- You have an A.A. degree or equivalent.
- You have a minimum 3 years of experience in insurance operations, compliance, underwriting, or commercial insurance policy administration
- Basic knowledge of the underwriting discipline and compliance requirements for the full underwriting cycle: both new and renewal business underwriting processes
- Willingness to learn and open to start-up growth and problem-solving
- You’re passionate about creating simpler internal insurance operations procedures
- Willingness to obtain insurance license/designation
What to expect!
Our hiring process generally consists of 3 phases.
- Phase 1: Qualified candidates will first meet with HR for a phone interview. This discussion is a high-level conversation to understand more about your background and interests and for us to share more about Coterie and the position.
- Phase 2: Selected candidates will then meet our Hiring Manager for the 2nd interview via Teams video. This interview is designed to be more detail-oriented and allows you to learn more about the role
- Phase 3: Top candidates will receive an invite for our final interview series via Teams video. This series will include an experimental exercise project (provided in advance), 1:1 interviews with selected team members, and a culture-focused interview. The final series is roughly 1.5-3 hours in total but can be scheduled over a few days for flexibility.
