VP of Product (Remote)

As the VP of Product, you will report directly to our CEO, and manage our Director of Product Management and Director of Design, as well as help them navigate the strategy and personnel management of their own teams. You will interface and be a peer to our leaders in Engineering, Data, Insurance, Growth, and Operations to help ensure that we are not only on pace, but anticipating and solving for the problems ahead.

Responsibilities

• Drive the product strategy and roadmap to ensure that the company achieves its short-term and long-term business needs and goals (from ideation to execution)
• Identify and define KPIs and metrics for the team to set targets and drive overall team performance
• Communicate and evangelize the product and design team goals and strategy to identify opportunities for synergy and build alignment across various stakeholders
• Develop the strategy for a suite of software and data products that are as easy to use as B2C mainstays, but possess the formal rigor of celebrated SaaS platforms.
• Foster creativity across the company
• Mentor the Product and Design teams and leaders
• Collaborate on company-wide strategy with Engineering, Data, Growth, Insurance, and Operations

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience building and managing product development teams at scale including significant SaaS and cloud native experience
• Must have  5+ years experience in leadership working at a high-tech startup
• Must have a strong background in B2B SaaS or large-scale B2C product management, software development, and data management (including storage, delivery, and consumption)
• Demonstrated success in defining, launching, and maintaining excellent products, as well as experience owning multiple product lines.
• Has user context/empathy and ability to translate that into compelling solutions and user experiences
• Deep understanding of measuring the success of execution of a business by providing the right metrics, data and other context to understand and measure product performance
• Track record for building and managing strong teams characterized by high productivity, excellent morale and low turnover. Highly efficient with the use of resources
• Demonstrated ability to influence change cross functionally
• Strong oral and written communication skills along with a proven ability to influence others internally and externally
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to manage the day-to-day tasks of diverse teams, while effectively influencing senior management on key decisions and direction
• In-depth understanding of Agile process and principles. Ability to interpret business and technical needs and translate them into themes, epics and user stories

Bonus

• Commercial Insurance or Small-Business product experience.
• B2B2C Product Experience.
• Deep knowledge of AI + ML data solutions in high variability, low-data volume OR  rare-event environments
• Previous experience of leadership in a non Product Management function.
