Travel: Although this is a 100% remote company, travel to our Cincinnati office may be required during the initial weeks or months for training and onboarding.

Job Summary: 
We’re on the hunt for a detail-oriented and driven Finance Analyst to become a vital part of our dynamic finance team. If you bring a solid background in finance and accounting, with bonus points for experience in public accounting, consulting, or the insurance sector, this is your moment!

In this role, you’ll take charge of managing financial reporting, optimizing cash flows, and tackling ad hoc analyses that shape our strategic direction. Embrace the chance to thrive in a high-energy environment, where your contributions will bolster our financial stability and steer our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against the budget, identify variances, and provide actionable insights.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist the team in preparing investor updates and board presentations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage certain invoicing, payments, and collections to support cash flow. Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and technology, to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects as required, including investor requests, fundraising, etc.

What you need to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within public accounting or the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel Power Tools, Sage Intacct, and Power BI
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

What will make you stand out: 

  • CPA, CFA, or relevant certification is a plus.

Our interview process: 

Our hiring process generally consists of 3 phases.

  • Phase 1: Qualified candidates will first meet with HR for a phone interview.  This discussion is a high-level conversation to understand more about your background and interests and for us to share more about Coterie and the position.
  • Phase 2: Selected candidates will be invited to participate in our PDP survey and meet with our Hiring Manager for a 2nd interview via Teams video. This interview is designed to be more detail oriented and allows you to learn more about the role
  • Phase 3: Top candidates will receive an invite for our final interview series via Teams video. This series will include an experiential exercise project (provided in advance), 1:1 interviews with selected team members and a culture focused interview. The final series is roughly 1.5-3 hours in total but can be scheduled over a few days for flexibility.

  • The salary range for this position is estimated between 90,000-110,000 based on national data. Candidates who meet all the minimum requirements and possess additional relevant experience, as outlined in the job description, may be considered for a salary above the midpoint of the specified salary range.  Salary is based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; degrees or certifications, etc.
