Funding to further support our mission
2020 was one for the books and while we can say that we were extremely fortunate to bring on great people, partners, and investors last year who believe in what we’re building (fueled by an oversubscribed Series A financing of $8.5M in March of 2020), even better things await in 2021.
Today, we formally announced that we’ve closed $11.5M in Series A-1 financing to further support our mission of empowering small businesses to take bigger swings by removing unwanted risk and enabling them to do more good. We’ve secured the additional funding through an oversubscribed Series A-1 led by Intact Ventures and with participation from Alpha Edison, Lackawanna Insurance Group, a subsidiary of Group1001, and previous investors, RPM Ventures, Allos Ventures, and several others. This funding has positioned us to expand our market reach and grow like never before!
Partnerships are the spice of life
Since raising our Series A in March of 2020, we’ve continued to successfully team up with companies like Intuit QuickBooks, HOMEE and Thryv. These partnerships have enabled us to expand our reach and help even more small businesses by connecting with them right within the platforms they already use.
In addition, we recently launched our solutions for independent agents and brokers to streamline the process of selling and servicing small business insurance, continuing to build on our vision to make business insurance simple, anywhere it is available. To kick off this channel, we’ve announced partnerships with Independent Market Solutions and First Connect to extend our capabilities to thousands of agencies already serving small businesses.
Teamwork makes the dream work
All of this wouldn’t be possible without our amazing people whose superpowers push Coterie’s success forward every day. Growing from 15 people to over 60 in one year is quite a journey and we truly believe we have the best people in the business powering us!
